Regular Membership
The Harrisville Fire Department is a volunteer organization that relies upon dedicated individuals who are willing to donate their time and talents for the benefit of their community. The department has a limit of forty (40) regular members andsix junior firefighters. If all the spots are filled, applicants are placed on a waiting list and are contacted when an opening in the membership arises. If you are interested in an exciting challenge and serving your community, then being a volunteer firefighter is for you!!

Basic Requirements to be a Harrisville Volunteer
- Must live within 2 miles of the Fire Station
- Must be at least 18 years old to be a senior member
- Junior members are allowed to join at age 16
- Must be willing to be an important part of our community
- Must be able to work with others as a team
- Regular training sessions and meetings require active participation

Junior Firefighter Program
The Harrisville Fire Department is very proud to be the host of a very successful junior firefighter program. Many of the current officers and members are former junior firefighters and the program has been recognized for its excellence by the Volunteer Firefighters Insurance Service, Inc. All of the junior members receive quality firefighting and emergency medical training, quickly learning how to work with others as a team and serve their community with pride. Within a matter of months a new junior firefighter is a valuable asset to their community.We are always interested in bolstering our ranks with quality youths. Anyone wishing to become a junior firefighter should speak with Chief St. Pierre.
Remember, there are limited spots, so act quickly!!
