The new Rhode Island State Comprehensive Fire Codes go into effect February 20, 2004. Please make every effort to work in a cooperative fashion with the Fire Prevention Division of the Harrisville Fire Department, as we all strive to improve the safety of the buildings within our district. Thank you for your understanding and support as we embark upon this most important endeavor. Rhode Island Fire Safety Code inspections and plan review are handled by:

| Residential Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector Inspections |

For residential smoke and carbon monoxide detector inspections, call the fire station and speak with the on duty person to schedule an appointment. Please call at least one week in advance of the property's closing to schedule the appointment. |
| New Building Plans |
|
New building plans are completed by the department's four ass't deputy state fire marshals (ADSFM). Plans are to be dropped off at the harrisville Fire District office located at 115 Central Street, Harrisville, Rhode Island during office hours which are 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Upon completion and payment of plan review fee, plans can be picked up at the Fire District Office. The ADSFM responsible for doing the plan review will conduct inspections and be responsible for signing the certificate of occupancy. |
| Fire & Life Safety Code inspections |

Fire and Life Safety Code Inspections are done annually in all buildings that come under the jurisdiction of the State Fire Code. Please call the Station and speak with one of the Deartment's Ass't Deputy State Fire Marshals if there are any questions regarding inspections. |
